The Nakshatra Foundation identifies exceptional students from underprivileged backgrounds and funds their education — directly to their schools, with full transparency.
Across India, there are exceptional children — children who score the highest in their class, who solve problems no one taught them to solve, who carry the spark of extraordinary potential.
Many of them will never realise that potential. Not because they lack ability, but because they lack resources. A school fee unpaid. A textbook unaffordable. A door that remains closed.
The Nakshatra Foundation exists to open that door. We work with local schools to identify nominated students, verify their need, and pay their school fees directly — transparently, accountably, and with zero tolerance for misuse.
Founded with a personal commitment of ₹10 lakh, we are building the systems and trust to grow this into something much larger.
"The brightest stars often burn in the darkest places. Our job is simply to make sure they are seen."
A teacher at a registered school nominates an exceptional student, uploading marksheets and a written recommendation through the school portal.
Our independent 3-5 person scholarship committee reviews each nomination against clear criteria. Every decision is documented and recorded.
Approved students are notified through their school. The scholarship covers fees for the academic year, renewable annually based on continued performance.
Payment goes directly to the school's verified bank account. No cash. No intermediaries. Full digital audit trail of every transaction.
Every safeguard exists for one reason: to ensure every rupee reaches the child it was intended for.
Teachers can only nominate using their official school email address. Schools are registered with UDISE code verification before any nomination is accepted.
Uploaded marksheets are cross-referenced against the school's registration number. Our committee manually reviews every academic document submitted.
Funds never touch a family's hands. We pay school fees directly to the institution's verified bank account — verified via penny drop confirmation.
Scholarships are renewed each year only upon submission of updated marksheets. Continued support is earned, not assumed.
Every payment made by the Foundation is logged publicly — date, amount, school name. Not names of children, but full financial transparency.
The committee conducts random annual spot checks — contacting schools directly to confirm students are enrolled and fees were applied correctly.
Student must rank in the top 10% of their class for two consecutive terms. Exceptional performance in a single subject area may also qualify.
Household income below ₹2.5 lakh per year, verified through ration card, income certificate, or equivalent government documentation.
Must be nominated by a registered teacher at a verified school. Self-nominations and parent nominations are not accepted.
Applications open from Class 1 through postgraduate college. We believe in supporting potential at every stage of education.
Scholarships are reviewed annually. Continued support requires maintained academic performance and updated documentation.
